Introduction:

DENSO CORPORATION has revealed plans for a significant investment of 69 billion yen to expand the Zenmyo Plant in Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture, through the construction of a new facility.

Features:

The new facility will standardise products using common materials and components, allowing various products to be produced on a single line. This approach enables quick adjustments to equipment, making it easier to switch between different product types and quantities.

Standardisation will also apply to production equipment components and processing programmes, improving software compatibility and reducing preparation times for production.

To ensure smooth operations, the facility will use cameras and sensors to continuously monitor equipment and the flow of goods. If any signs of equipment failure are detected, remote assessments will enable preventive measures to maintain uninterrupted production.

Additionally, digital twin technology will create a virtual model of the plant for testing equipment and conducting improvement simulations, leading to a more efficient production system.

Knowledge gained from manufacturing activities will be stored in a database for easy access, facilitating greater automation and quicker enhancements in manufacturing processes.
